We hear more and more about noise pollution as a factor in our lives, against which the fight is on to achieve the necessary levels of quiet to maintain comfortable levels. Every day we are faced with continous noise, both in our workplaces and at home, and to reduce the harmful effects it causes to our health noise reduction is extremely important.
Acoustic insulation, in terms of glass, depends on different factors:
- The thickness of the glass used.
- The difference in the thicknesses of the glass used for the glazing. It has been proven that installing different thicknesses of glass allows greater levels of noise insulation to be achieved.
- By installing special Polyvinyl butyrals between the glass panes. AKUSTEX® glass, composed of special Polyvinyl butyrals, increase sound insulation by up to 3 dB in comparison with regular laminate glass.
- The thickness of the gap.
It must be pointed out that to achieve optimum acoustic insulation for windows or glass façades that the carpentry must be of high quality. If either of the two components is not specifically designed to improve noise reduction, the performance of the entire system suffers.
