ISOLAR NEUTRALUX® is an insulated double-glazing system using low emission glass on the inside, which considerably increases its thermal insulting properties by preventing most of the energetic transmission. This special glass has a neutral layer of noble metals on its surface, mainly silver, which is millionths of a millimeter thick.
The equipment used to apply this layer on the glass involves the use of a high vacuum gap known as a magnetron. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the NEUTRALUX® layer, before assembling the treated glass as double glazing it is necessary to perform a prior step involving removing part of this layer from the edges (perimeter de-bordering); in order to prevent the film from rusting and to ensure optimum adherence of the sealant to the glass.
ISOLAR NEUTRALUX® can achieve a U ratio equivalent to that of a 30 cm thick brick wall, but, nevertheless, thanks to its transparency, it is hardly distinguishable from traditional insulation glass. ISOLAR NEUTRALUX® is particularly recommended for areas where temperatures are low, as it can reduce heat exchange between the inside and outside of the glazing, thus allowing savings on heating bills.
ISOLAR NEUTRALUX® treated double-glazing panels must be installed with the treated pane on the inside, facing towards the inside of the gap (surface 3).
